Keeping your kitchen organised

A decluttered kitchen with plenty of storage is a dream place to work in! Everything is much more easy to do and everything becomes easier to find. Here are some tips to keep your kitchen decluttered and organised:

  • Wooden Rack Shelf – A wooden rack shelf is an easy way to store open wine bottles, add hooks on the ends for corkscrews.
  • Toe-Kicker Drawers  – Most kitchens have toe kicks under their cabinets. This one, however, utilizes those spaces.
  • A dual-door cabinet – A dual-door cabinet allows for easy access for dinnerware, serving bowls and other kitchen items.
  • Breakfast Storage Bar–  Keep one area of your shelving for breakfast. Pour your cereals into circular tubs and keep on the shelf alongside a cookie jar/biscuit tin and your morning cuppa’ ingredients.
  • Cookbooks – Cookbooks are fine on open shelves, so long as they’re not exposed to humidity and grease from the fridge or stove. Add a shelve for cookbooks away from your oven and gas hobs.
  • Hanging – Hang aprons, oven gloves, and dish towels on pegs (hang them at least two feet away from the oven.)
  • Utensil Jugs –  Put some essential tools together into a china jug and place within easy reach of your cooking area for efficient food prep. This adds some interest to your kitchen as well as keeping things tidy. For no-fuss buffet service, also present cutlery to guests in mugs or small china jugs.
  • Divided drawers – Drawer organisers keep cutlery neatly separated, so you never have to rummage around for what you need.
  • Categorise Foods – Organize your shelves/cupboards as you would a library, with food items grouped by category.
  • Waste – Place your food waste bin under your sink. These make effective use of space and help prevent spills on the floor.
